Network IT Services

STC offers:

  • wireless infrastructure throughout all campuses for students, faculty, staff, and guest community users.
  • eduroam (education roaming): a secure, world-wide roaming access.  Eduroam allows students, researchers and staff from participating institutions to obtain wireless access while on our campuses.
  • wireless support available at all STC Campus Libraries and the Help Desk located at the Pecan Campus Building M.

Operating systems currently supported are Windows 7, 8.1, and Mac OSX.

Student / Staff Accounts

  • A student, faculty or staff user account is automatically generated when the admission or hiring process is complete.

Guest Accounts

  • A guest account may be requested through the Technology Help Desk.  At least three working days prior to the event visit the Self-Service Portal at isphelp@southtexascollege.edu and create a service ticket by selecting Access / Accounts / single, multiple / …. and fill in the blanks then select the submit button. The guest account will be generated and you will be sent the information.

VPN Services

STC offers VPN (Virtual Private Network) service. Remote access VPN connections enable users working at home or on the road to access a server on a private network using the infrastructure provided by STC. When connected through VPN you may access resources as if you were sitting on campus.

A VPN account may be requested by calling the Technology Help Desk.
