What kind of technology is being used in STC's Pecan campus wireless network?

South Texas College has decided to go with the Cisco Unified Wireless Network solution to provide students,faculty and staff a secure wireless network connection at our Pecan campus. The college has adopted the 802.11a/b/g standards to allow access to all campus wide Access Points.

Where on campus can I use the new wireless network?

Every building at the Pecan campus is wireless with the exception of the ISS building (Building N).

What kind of equipment do I need to access the wireless network?

Wi-Fi Certified or IEEE 802.11 clients

What kind of software will I need to access the wireless network?

  • Wireless Zero configuration (windows software)
  • Wireless card connection software
  • Cisco Clean Access Agent software
